Ik ben Stijn van Erp, een theatermaker, performer, schrijver en regisseur afgestudeerd in 2016 aan de performance opleiding van de toneelacademie in Maastricht.
Ik schrijf teksten die ik zelf speel en bevraag in mijn voorstellingen altijd het leven en de manier waarop we het emotioneel of sociaal (be)leven. Op de een of andere manier komt dat altijd uit op in het nu zijn, het enige moment waar verbinding en contact maken mogelijk zijn. Dat is dan ook waar ik naar opzoek ben op het podium: écht contact. Ik probeer momenten te creëren die ons meer tot leven kunnen laten komen, waarin we los kunnen laten en voelen wat het is om te zijn.
Naast het maken van voorstellingen, die je vindt onder work, hou ik me af en toe ook nog wel eens bezig met tekenen. Een verzameling van mijn tekeningen en sommige van mijn teksten vind je ook op deze site.
Ik ben sinds februari 2019 onderdeel van kunstenaars-collectief Timewindow Rotterdam.

I gratuated from the performance art study at the Maastricht Theatre Academy in 2016. Since then I have been making theatre, installations and social interventions, in which the encouter is always central. I think the term encounter maker may be more suiting with what I do than theatremaker. Because we do not always have the time, energy or resources in our lives to discover new perspectives, I like to create the framework in my work to do so.

I focus on theater that connects and shows real stories. Where you see 'the human being', in all her vulnerabilities. I strive to create moments where we can let go and be open to new discoveries. I always question life and the way we live it emotionally or socially. Somehow I always end up with 'being in the now'. The only moment where connection and contact are possible.

Other work
The Tante Netty Foundation connects artists to social issues or problems. To come up with creative solutions. I work for this foundation as project leader of the Studio Woensel-West project. We take 10 Eindhoven young people into creativity and cultural entrepreneurship.
I work as a theater teacher for the SKVR. I teach improvisation courses to adults, presentation workshops and other social skill workshops at MBO and VO schools and I perform the children's show: The Mega Maffe Muziek Quiz at various primary schools in Rotterdam.
Stichting Thuis in Oss coordinates the shelter of refugees in Oss. For this foundation I was asked to set up a theater program for the residents of the shelter. I gave weekly theater lessons, where not language, but movement and imagination were focuspoints.
